Ending Waste and Corruption ( Reflective Summary of the Editorial published in Sunday observer on 26th January 2020.)
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has already begun to make our island a wast free country by taking all the posible steps. and he also has taken many adamant steps to put a fullstop to the corruption and wasteful expenditure in the government sector. This would even reduce the revenue to the government due to the subsidy paid to the public and industry. 'It is not the whistle that moves the train.' The Previous leaders' actions reminds us this saying. In the past five years the government has been paying Rs.23 million per month to a private company to rent a building in Rajagiriya to house the offices of the Agriculture Ministry while already having a well facilitated office building for the Ministry in Palawatte. This undehand transaction has funneled government funds into a private company. One of presidents first tasks to stop the corruption is giving orders to shift the building to its relevant building in Palawatte. This alone will not suffice the culprits. They shiul...
